Everett School Community,

I am writing about recent immigration enforcement activity in our community, which has attracted media attention and causes understandable levels of concern, uncertainty, and anxiety among students, families, and staff.

First and foremost, the Everett Public Schools continues to closely follow the guidance provided to school districts by the Massachusetts Attorney General. That information can be found HERE.

In addition, student information is protected by federal law, and we will not release sensitive information to immigration agents without a valid judicial warrant.

Director of Social Emotional Learning Dr. Brian Wallace and our team of school-based counselors are ready to support students and staff. Please do not hesitate to teach out to a member of the EPS Social Emotional Learning Team if your student needs our assistance. We want our students to feel safe and to remain connected to their teachers and classmates and their educations.

Lastly, EPS leadership continues to speak with agencies and reliable immigration resources to better inform us and our families, and we are constantly thinking about the ways in which we can best support the EPS community.

Thank you.
